How To Clone JAMMA HDD Hard Disk —

i have an 80gb based games family board, im currently using a 120gb sata hard drive, i have had it running on a 1tb sata drive as well.

for sata drives you will need and ide to sata converter, i cloned mine using the built in clone that comes with the games family board, it is accessed by turning on switch 4 on dip switch set 2, then connect the drive you want to back up to to the 2nd ide port on the games family main board, power on the games family board and press player 2 start, this will start the ghost backup program clone the drive and power off the board once done.

you will then need to follow below guide to edit the registry to enable large disk support. i plugged my drive into a usb to sata cable to do it, if you dont enable large disk support and try to boot of your backup drive most times you will get a blue screen error and it wont load into the games family menu.

Take the drive out, put it in another PC or use a IDE to USB adaptor

In windows, run regedit, click on HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE then goto file -> load hive

*edit* almost forgot this step, find the hive in <DRIVE>:\WINNT\system32\config\system – where <DRIVE> is whatever your xxxx-in-1 drive letter came up as

Type any name you want for the key, then go in and add the key mentioned in the above

Also instead of “CurrentControlSet” it will be Controlset001 and Controlset002 – just change teh value in both

Make sure you “unload hive” otherwise it wont save. Stick the drive back in your cab and away you go. I’ve now got a 2TB drive in my XXXX-in-1.

just to clarify, when you run regedit, click on HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE then goto file -> load hive from <DRIVE>:\WINNT\system32\config\system – where <DRIVE> is whatever your xxxx-in-1 drive letter came up as… it will ask for a key name, name it something you can find ie: xxxx, now when you expand HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE key you will see a new key in the submenu called xxxx these is the control sets you edit, then once done click HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE then go file unload hive file to save.
